An Indian online education platform, Safalata, part of the Shraddha Group of Education, has allegedly become the latest victim of a significant data breach. The platform, which provides preparatory courses for various government and banking exams with a focus on specialized roles like translators and officers, may have had sensitive information of its users compromised. The institution serves as a key resource for aspirants seeking roles in government sectors, financial institutions, and public service undertakings across India.

The data was allegedly published on a dark web forum by a threat actor who claimed to have accessed the information through a critical security lapse. According to the post, a direct link to an administrative panel was left exposed, allowing for unauthorized access to the website’s backend systems. This alleged oversight enabled the exfiltration of a database containing 85,430 user records, raising serious questions about the platform’s security infrastructure and data protection practices.

The leaked data allegedly includes:

  • A complete database reportedly belonging to the Indian education company.
  • Information corresponding to 85,430 users of the platform.
